Diploma thesis "Homo dilettantus",
March 2013 – September 2013
The diploma thesis "Homo dilettantus" was created as part of my completed graphic design studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. The multimedia work deals with the topic of dilettantism in its various facets and is made up of several parts.
Research and editorial design
Based on the historical emergence of dilettantism, the book provides basic information on cultural, economic and philosophical aspects and functions as a timeless reference work in the form of a thread-stitched hardcover book with a linen cover and embossing. Several brochures were produced that shed light on the complexity of the topic from different angles.
Multimedia work
Various digital elements of the work were developed. A concept for an accompanying website was created and a short film was realised.

Key project learnings
Through this work, I have learned to integrate convergent and divergent thinking into the creative process. This experience has significantly broadened my creative mindset, making it easier for me to develop innovative concepts and to master complex challenges more effectively and ultimately implement them successfully.
